Lazos is a community of Hispanic and Latino men at Iowa State University
Lazos mission statement:
Lazos provides a safe and welcoming space where we can discuss the issues that face Hispanic and Latino men on the ISU campus. Through casual conversations and sharing of our experiences, we seek to form bonds between students, staff, and faculty and create a supportive network of peer-to-peer and mentorship relationships among students, staff, and faculty that lead to success at ISU and beyond.
Nationally, Latino student enrollment and degree completion continues to increase. However, to reach the Latino degree attainment goal of 6.2 million degrees by 2030 requires a tactical plan for Latino college completion. This plan should include: closing equity gaps in degree
completion, and accelerating, not just increasing, Latinos’ degree attainment.
