Lazos is a community of Hispanic and Latino men at Iowa State University
Lazos mission statement:
Lazos provides a safe and welcoming space where we can discuss the issues that face Hispanic and Latino men on the ISU campus. Through casual conversations and sharing of our experiences, we seek to form bonds between students, staff, and faculty and create a supportive network of peer-to-peer and mentorship relationships among students, staff, and faculty that lead to success at ISU and beyond.
Over the past six years, Lazos members have completed their academic goals of graduating with a university degree!
Of the 120+ Lazos participants since 2016, over 80 have completed at least a bachelor’s degree, and of those more than 20 have earned their master’s and/or doctoral degrees.
Lazos members come from all around ISU!
Lazos graduates represent nearly 60 of the ISU academic programs.
